Stone Mediation Firm takes all types of cases (whether voluntary/private or court or contract mandated). This includes, but is not limited to, general/civil, domestic/family & probate cases. We are also specialized in handling cases involving domestic violence, as mandated by the Supreme Court of Georgia Alertnative Dispute Resolution rules/regulations. Notably, Stone Mediation Firm is the only practice in the area that offers mediation both on weekends & after hours, accommodating clients with scheduling limitations prohibiting them from attending mediation during normal business hours Monday-Friday (whether clients are represented by an attorney or not). However, the firm also takes cases throughout the week during normal business hours & offers both virtual & in-person options. The firm operates out of North Georgia, but serves clients across the entire state.

*The firm is currently in the process of adding custody exchange monitoring as well as supervised visitation & parenting coordinator services.*

Mediation is a process in which a registered neutral facilitates settlement discussions between parties. The neutral has no authority to make a decision or impose a settlement upon the parties. The neutral attempts to focus the attention of the parties upon their needs and interests rather than upon rights and positions. Although in court programs the parties may be ordered to attend a mediation session, any settlement is entirely voluntary. In the absence of settlement, the parties lose none of their rights to a jury trial. -Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution (GODR)

Expanding on the above definition, mediation provides a neutral setting for parties to come together to creatively resolve disputes with a comprehensive consideration for the interests & needs of all sides. This process empowers parties with a more productive environment to negotiate in confidence with the moderation of a professional, impartial mediator. Parties are often better able to fully advocate for their interests & needs in mediation, as compared to legal proceedings in which the court lacks the capacities to consider all factors quite as thoroughly. Mediation is often mandated by the courts for this reason, but it's also saught voluntarily or agreed upon as terms of a contract. Mediation can also reduce the expenses associated with the case as compared to pursuing litigation. Regardless of the nature of the dispute, Stone Mediation Firm is here to serve you.
